Once upon a time, many years ago, I realized that I was bored with teaching Astrology in a conventional way.  While in the shower one morning I had a sudden inspiration....it was Astrological Plays.

It struck me that casting students in the roles of Planets within individual charts would allow for deep, dynamic and intuitive learning.

Amazingly, and gloriously, it worked.  The members of the first group had wildly different levels of Astrological knowledge, open hearts, and trust in cosmic magic.

Here's how it works.  Each week we act out one person's chart, who plays their own Sun.  The other players are each assigned the role of a planet.  In our first group we soon discovered that as soon as the players assumed their roles they became attuned to the planetary energies and experienced the qualities of planets in their daily lives.  Each person “became” the planet that they were playing and could bring deep insight to each play.

The usual pattern of groups is that one begins in the Fall, ending as the year ends and another starts up in January, ending just as the Maine Spring starts to take hold.  We meet in a classroom in our barn, a cozy inner type of space. The cost is $30 for each meeting, with the understanding that each player is committed to all sessions.  Payment can be made on a weekly basis, and custom payment arrangements are always considered.

I have also, on occasion, led weekend-long Astrological Plays.  This format serves as a very fruitful introduction to the archetypes that the planets represent, and provides great fun for groups of people who already know each other in a different context.
